Many Nigerians have lambasted Tinubu’s government as he clocks one year in office on May 29, 2024.

An activist, Francis Nwapa, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office is characterised by “misery, hunger, starvation and retrogression”.

Many Nigerians have lambasted Tinubu’s government as he clocks one year in office on May 29, 2024.

Nwapa, in his assessment called for Tinubu’s removal from office through mass protests.

According to him, the administration has unleashed a pro-rich/anti-poor economy on workers.

The activist on his X (formerly Twitter) account wrote: “One year in office of @officialABAT has been characterized by misery, hunger, starvation & retrogression of our beloved Nation.”

“It’s a dozen of the failures of @MBuhari Neolibral pro-rich/anti-poor economy unleashed on workers. We must boot this regime out through Protests,” he added.

Similarly, on Tuesday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in his assessment of Tinubu’s one year in office, described it as one that has been a “cocktail of trial-and-error economic policies”.

Atiku, a former Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, said despite the promises made by Tinubu’s administration to create jobs, provide adequate security and so on, things had gone from bad to worse under his leadership.

“On May 29, 2023, President Bola Tinubu raised the hopes of Nigerians with his pledge to “remodel our economy to bring about growth and development through job creation, food security and an end of extreme poverty.”
